Ritman University Management Pays Condolence Visit to Founder and Visitor, Ritman University, Senator Emmanuel Ibok Essien, FNSE.
The Management Team of Ritman University, Ikot Ekpene, on Thursday, November 28, 2025, paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the Founder and Visitor of the University, Senator Emmanuel Ibok Essien, FNSE, following the passing of his beloved wife, Dr. Mrs. Grace Emmanuel Essien, whose vision and commitment laid the foundation for the Ritman Group of Schools.
The visit underscored the University’s deep respect for the woman whose legacy continues to shape its educational ideals.
The solemn session began with an opening remark by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Akan B. Williams, who conveyed the University Management’s sympathies and reflected on the life and impact of the late matriarch. Drawing inspiration from Isaiah 41:10, he encouraged the family to find strength in God’s assurance, stating that even in moments of profound loss, “God remains our refuge and promises to uphold us through every storm.”
A prayer session for the family was led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Essien D. Udosen, who prayed for comfort, unity, and divine fortitude for the bereaved family as they navigate this difficult period
In his response, Senator Emmanuel Ibok Essien, FNSE, expressed gratitude to the Management and guests for their solidarity, describing his late wife as a pillar whose love, wisdom, and vision transformed countless lives through education
He noted that she would have marked her 68th birthday in December 2025.
The condolence visit also witnessed the presence of notable personalities and University stakeholders, including:

Late Dr. Mrs. Grace E. Essien is survived by
her husband, children, grandchildren, and other relatives.
