As part of its community relations and collaborative engagements, the new Management Team of Ritman University, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Akan B. Williams, has paid a courtesy visit to the Area Commander, Ikot Ekpene Area Command, and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ikot Ekpene Division.
The visit, held on 4th October, 2025, was aimed at strengthening partnership and fostering continuous cooperation between the University and the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring a safe and peaceful environment conducive for teaching, learning, and community development.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Akan Williams, expressed profound appreciation to the Police Command for their sustained support and vigilance towards maintaining peace and order within the University and its host community. He reiterated the institution’s commitment to maintaining an open and cordial working relationship with the security agencies.
According to him, “Ritman University values the role of the Police in safeguarding lives and property. We look forward to deepening our collaboration in areas of community safety, youth mentorship, and civic education.”
Responding, the Area Commander, ACP. Adamu Gamji, commended the leadership of Ritman University for the visit and described it as a demonstration of responsible partnership. He assured the University of the Command’s readiness to continue supporting its security architecture and initiatives geared toward the wellbeing of students and staff.
Similarly, The Officers acknowledged the positive relationship between the institution and the Division, promising to further strengthen ties through proactive policing and continuous communication.
The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by Chief Security Officer, as well as the information Officer of the University.
The visit ended on a note of mutual appreciation and reaffirmation of the shared commitment between Ritman University and the Nigeria Police Force to promote peace, safety, and sustainable collaboration within the Ikot Ekpene community.
